The city canal in Riga, Latvia. After the old fortifications - ramparts were leveled, city leaders wanted a beautiful park for city folk. Beyond the canal which is in fact a small estuary of the Daugava, new urban developments expanded the city center.

Cascade Rapid on the Clark Fork River.
This short but sweet rapid is rougher than it looks. It flips canoes and kayaks over easily.
I went through this several times on a sit on top style kayak and never flipped but I sure came close !
You can see this from a turn out on the highway near Quinns Hot Springs in Montana.
The Clark Fork River is named after the sidekick of the leader of the corps of discovery.
