Our annual explosion of Eastern Lubber grasshoppers is in full bloom. These dudes are huge, pushing 3" in length. I tried to get one to pose on a lens cap for visual reference, but they make lousy models. Their favorite pastime (other than mating) appears to be jumping in the road to play chicken with passing cars. They rarely win...





A Twofer... I think I understand these; it's the Threefers that have me confused.
