IM a lazy photographer.. what I mean is I never wait for a shot or plan it in any way.. I see what I like instantly and get it... The only thing I look for is morning or evening sun, what about you?

Why bother then?

I see the photos in my head long before I acquire them; and I won't shoot a damn thing in the middle of the day unless I have a reflector, and open shade.

As an artist I plan outings for specific images planned well in advance. So photographs came by chance and some from months of planning.

If it's a hobby and that what you enjoy doing then fine. It's not like your wasting a lot of film, and time in a real darkroom developing, exposing, drying film and paper.

I try to plan some shots. We go to some events which we aren't sure what the photo possibilities will be. So, it's a combination. Some of the better shots are sometimes unplanned and unexpected.

So far, I have never gotten the sun to appear where I want it. It has it's own mind...

Unplanned, unexpected shot:

If that works for you, fine. But composition is major factor in getting a good "photo", without it you're just getting a snapshot. Although sometimes you can end up with a one of a kind shot, but not very often.

Planning is the difference between snapshots and photography. If you're not planning, you're not really a photographer.
