I agree, thanks Rance, esp. since I missed the December one. I'll make sure to put this on my calendar. I have a party to go to tomorrow so I may have to take that camera and tripod with me if the moon hasn't come up by the time we leave.

Bulldawg - thanks for the EXIF. Maybe I can try that for tomorrow night, unless it's too bright for the exposure.

The skies were much too cloudy and rainy here for any moon to peek through and I thank you all for the wonderful photos.

Considering this is only the 11th day of the year, one would presume this would be the fullest full moon of the year.

Yeah me too...was disappointed that it rained and it was cloudy. I even took my camera to the party I attended just so I could shoot. Everyone was watching out for the moon for me, but alas, it was a disappointment. That and the abyssmal performance of the Panthers!

The moon was great last night. We had a weather system come through with rain but the moon peeked thru a couple times, lucky for me. This first one is a little grainy and shaky, but I like the clouds in it. I leaned on a wall for the second one. Funny, the moon here in NC looks eerily similar to the one you guys have in Alaska

A few minutes of clearing before the rain

The moon did look really cool last night and peeked out from the clouds for a minute when I noticed it...thought about grabbing the camera but got distracted....Bummer! Well this is from a long time ago.

Default Last's Night Perigee Moon

Big and bright, and completely full. However, when the moon is this full, the lighting is head-on, and it washes out the crater detail.

Moonset this morning with alpen glow over the mountains.
