Some nice person gave me a rep point on an old car that I posted months ago. That prompted me to get back over here to the P forum and see what's up. Lot's of cool stuff I tell yuh. Thanks whoever did it.
I can't believe the contest winners of these past few months. Nice. I want to be like you.
So anyways, I tried a couple more shots just to participate in the new April contest. I had promised to participate months ago but since I've been in Maine from Nov. to the end of Mar., I had slow speed internet. Now I'm back with DSL. No stopping me now. So sorry.
With all due respect, how are people supposed to know that there is even a contest to subscribe to if it's buried on the third page? It really should be a sticky if it needs to be current. I suggest the other threads that are stickies be "unstickied". I doubt there are people who still read those tips, no matter how good those tips are. It only takes one poster going on a post fest to move the current events to pages other than the first. Just my two cents.
I have to agree with bibit612. People who regularly browse the photography forum know about the contest threads, and will go hunting for them if they're not on the first page, but when someone goes nuts and posts to 50 or 60 different threads within a couple of days' time, newcomers to the forum are effectively prevented from participating in the contests because they don't know they're there.
If there is a limit on the number of stickied threads in a given forum, could we at least have a single thread stickied with the title "check here for current contests" and in the initial post of that thread, have links to the current month contest threads? That way, even if the contest threads themselves get pushed to the back pages, people still know they're there, and would have a fast and easy way of getting to them.
ETA: Great minds clearly travel on like paths, as I see that 2goldens has now done just that! Thanks!

Reason: 2goldens beat me to it!
Great ideas. I too was wondering the same thing, but glad to see it was taken care of before I even had a minute to sit down and compose a question about it. Thanks!
