OKayyyyyyy ....... Let's set up a program - as for both running contests -

Beginning is the 1st day of the month and hopefully on the Theme's we have an early subject. Let's keep the last day of adding photographs on the last Wednesday of the month. This way we have 3-4 days to vote, announce the winner and be ready by the 1st of next month. How does this sound?

Yep sounds good 2goldens, you'll be scrambling in September though as the last Wednesday of the month is also the last day of the month!

I'm seeing alot of entries where the subject is'nt more than 50% obscured. I can understand why though, to me, partial means an amount less than half.

Oops! Sorry!

Oh, cr@p. I didn't see the "50%" rule. I will delete mine. Goes running to room.

Unless it is a studio photo . . . it is going to be very difficult to produce a nature photo that is exactly 50% obscured!!!! I noticed the 50% requirement, but thought - this has to be a mistake, b/c it isn't as tho one can RELIABLY produce anything other than studio work that is right on the button at 50% obsured. Perhaps that 50% qualification should be dropped. I would think "partially obscured" is enuff. If it isn't, then I will need to withdraw my photo, wh/ is fine . . . just need to know if that 50% requirement is a big deal.

Although it is not up to me, considering that this is all just for fun, I see no reason to break out the rulers and calculators and do all that cypherin' and guz-in-to's and such.
Maybe it is just me, but I cannot understand what 50% (of what?) is being blocked in MinuteMans shot, but it did not bother me in the least. All of the posted shots seem to follow the general idea of the contest to me... and since we only get one vote I do not see any problem. Now when the contest winner gets the all expense paid trip to the Bahamas (I think that one is in April) I think we should follow the rules to a tee.
But thats just me... and it ain't up to me.

Notice the 2nd bold texts in the above quote. At least 50%. Oklahomasue's sample photo seems to be removed adding to the confusion.

Bulldawgfan, my photo is titled Woods Trail, that is the subject. The trail that the snowmobile rides on is at least 50% obscured by the fallen trees and snow.
