I understand this isn't technically IN Litchfield Park, but wondered if anyone had anything to say about the neighborhood that is considered Wigwam Creek North? Area is located east of El Mirage Road and north of Camelback. It obviously isn't as nice as the area around the Wigwam resort but it is close and much cheaper for housing. We will be renting a 3b/2ba house (just two of us) there, but just like many neighborhoods in Phoenix Metro, it is hard to get a vibe on what the community is like even doing a few drive byes!

We are moving from Surprise Farms to shorten our commutes. We have only been in AZ for exactly a year now.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It's a nice neighborhood. Lots of young families. Lots of military folks, due to the proximity to Luke. A few miles removed from most of the traffic and stuff around the retail areas in Goodyear and Avondale, yet still close enough that it's doable. Decent access to the 101 to get where you need to be. Not a bad spot.

The only issue I can think of would be that it backs up to the Agua Fria River. There are a few quarries in the river bed right near there, and can create some dust and air issues from time to time.

Cody summed it up pretty good. I would add there are a lot of rental properties there and housing is inexpensive. To see if it's your type of neighborhood, a good idea would be to visit it at different times of day and night, including during your commute times.

Thanks for both of the above posts.

Yea we are renting for probably one more year and the housing was affordable, 3b/2b for $900. We drove by a few times during the day and it seemed ok. Again, not super nice but not dumpy. Reason we chose this area was because it provides each of us with 30 minute commutes, her to lower Buckeye and me to Peoria. Went to do a walk through of the house of Friday and there were a few more dented/banged up cars in driveways and streets than we saw the first time. I don't like to judge solely based on what people drive (I drive a 12 year old car but mine is very well kept up) but in Phoenix since the houses all look the same, sometimes cars are all you have to go on!!!
