Hello all!

After getting some great info the last time I posted (yes my panic over scorpions and gila monsters) I thought perhaps I could impose upon you once again.

Myself my fiance and our two dogs are finally moving to az. We have already obtained temporary residence and are now looking into a more permanent rental.

I'm thinking that for the first 6 months (at least) an apartment complex would provide a better quality of life (re fitness center, pool, hot tub) and the smaller space will be less daunting to furnish.

I have done a lot of research online and so far BELIEVE that these four complexes are the first we should look at:

1. Pillars at pecos-Chandler
2. Cantera- Chandler
3. San palacio- Chandler
4. San hacienda- Chandler

Just looking to see if anyone knows anything about them good or bad!

Also open to alternatives! Looking for something pet friendly, on the luxury end of things, about 750-1000 a month for a one bedroom and of course most importantly SAFE.

sorry for the lengthy post! Thank you for any and all info you may have!
Jen

One last thing - we are open to other areas as long as they are near Tempe (job there) and of course safe (preferably gated).

Thanks!

Well, I would not limit myself to gated communities. There are plenty of nongated ones in S Tempe and Chandler that are just as safe as any gated community in the same area.

Observer thanks for the tip about non gated communities! I'll keep in mind that the perceived safety of a gate is often not as necessary!

Logo- thanks for the tip! I will absolutely look into it!

I'm assuming from your responses Tempe is also considered to be relatively safe? Are there areas to avoid?

I live in Tempe and I'd rather live there then in some of those places in Little Mexico around Pecos in Chandler.

Loco (autocorrect grrr)- thank you so much for your candor! Coming from ny its hard to pinpoint what is "good" from "bad" ... Really appreciate the help! So I should probably stay away from anything on/near pecos?

In Tempe, I'd stay away from the immediate area of the University just to get out of the college student crowd, not so much for any crime issue, and away from the area east of campus and north of Apache Blvd. Other than that, Tempe is a fine choice.
