There are so many construction workers next door in and out daily and I cannot very well look out the window for the mail truck to drive up, so yeah, I've been concerned. And you're right, there are certain things I want to keep from my neighbor. The more I keep to myself, the better.

He'll find out soon enough when cameras are pointed his way that I'm serious about preventing not only stolen mail, but a lot of stuff. In this day and age of not knowing who our neighbors really are, it's essential to protect all we have.

I don't by any means think that everyone needs to do what you are doing "to protect all [you] have" because of "this day and age of not knowing who our neighbors really are" . I can't say that you are overreacting, because I'm not there, but if everyone did as you are doing, yes, the vast majority would be overreacting.

And, let's not take this thread onto the camera subject. That's for the other thread.

Well, it really is all related. It's not like I like driving 11 miles and the expense of a PO Box (although based on the poll I now see it necessary), but home security is home security. Things do get expensive after awhile, but as you wish.

You started the thread -- a poll and thread about types of mailboxes and identity theft due to mail theft. You've had a lot of suggested responses, including one that won't cost you a dime. Good luck! Thread closed.
