I need to take the train to Newark Airport next week and am curious about the parking at the train station. Looking online it looks like the Hamilton Train Station and Trenton Train Station offer overnight parking.

Any input on which one is better? Safer? Thanks so much!

Can you get dropped off or take a taxi to the nearest train station? It would probably be cheaper that way since not many people in the Philadelphia area live more than 5 miles from a RR station.

Hamilton will probably feel like a safer area, and is probably cheaper. I have not been to the Trenton station (other than to pick-up/drop-off) since they renovated it, so maybe it's better now.

I could on the way there. It's the way back that is the trouble. Are taxi's readily available at the Trenton Station? Or do you have to pre-arrange? Thanks solibs.

Now I am thoroughly confused, looking online Hamilton Station is listed in Trenton on Sloan St.

So... another question (sorry, just moved to the area, very ignorant)

Hamilton Train Station is off 95 N correct?
Trenton Transit Center is downtown Trenton?

Thanks!

There are always cabs out in front of Trenton Station. If you don't see one right away wait two minutes. It's a pretty busy station.

Do you live in Mercer County? or nearby in Bucks? If not it's probably easier to take the R7 or Riverline to Trenton Station and connect there with the train to Newark Airport.

Hamilton Station is in Hamilton at exit 65 on I-295 - it could very well be a Trenton zip code, though.

Trenton Station is near downtown Trenton. Unless you plan on spending the night there I think you'll be OK.

LOL, flying out of Newark next week, so weighing my options. I am in Bucks county, right near Trenton, it is a much easier station to get to, but overnight parking is much more $$.

Hamilton is easy enough, especially for the price. It is 1/3 of Trenton.

I swear after living on the East Coast for almost 15 years, I still cannot understand New Jersey!

In that case I would definitely get dropped off at the station and take a cab home. If you're just going to Morrisville or nearby It'll probably be around $10. Even if it was $20 it's still probably cheaper than leaving your car in either place for 3 or 4 nights.

i always wondered how to get to newark airport from philly using the train. seems like international flights (maybe even flights in general) are way cheaper departing from there than philly intl.

The only reason I go up to EWR anymore is to fly on Virgin. If you're going to London, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid or Barcelona you might save $40 by flying out of Newark. But by the time you pay for the train and the extra 3 minutes of your life getting there and back you've probably lost money.

Though, if you want to go to most other places in the world your options are either EWR or BWI.
