Does anyone commute from Phoenixville to Center City? What is it like?
Thanks!

You have 2 options.

Drive to center city, it takes 1 hr. It is better than its made out to be, you will get stuck on 422 for 10-12 mins, however there is a highway expansion underway and in 2 yrs it should be good.
Drive to nearest station, take the train. Drive will be 20 mins, then train another 30 mins.

Bottom line, it works. not different than any other suburb in philly. 2 ways out, 23 to 202 north to 76 east, or 422 to 76 east.

I say if the commute is a concern, it should not be. go for it.

I used to live in East Coventry, just above Phoenixville and I had to drive into the city twice a week for dr appts (I was pregnant)...anyway, some days it was fine and others was AWFUL. 422 was never the problem for me...It was right after that...I forget the name of the road, but very narrow driving and if you got behind one slow person or accident-forget about it. We were late for our own babies delivery b/c of traffic, lol! Seriously, we had a scheduled c-section and we had to be there at 8am. We left at 6:30...we didn't get into the hospital until closer to 10am due to an accident. And accidents happen often.
Good luck.

I wouldn't want to do it on a daily basis unless I was used to an hour plus commute to say, Manhattan. Otherwise, why not look into Media?

I used to take the train 30 minutes to the city and pretty much hated it. I can't imagine doubling that trip.
