what is the crime situation in Phoenixville? Should I be nervous about moving there into a rowhouse with my young family?

I drove through Phoenixville, and it seems that some of the closer-to-Bridge St. roads had some sketchy areas (and random people standing around). I'm talking about the area south of Bridge St., west of Gay St.

Is this area sort of sketchy or am I jumping to conclusions?

I think its sketchy - remember Phoenixville is on its way up but was down for like 20 years...that section was pretty bad just 13 years ago with drugs crime etc...

If you are willing to move into a rowhome, why not move closer to the city like Springfield Havertown etc? Or is that just to rent and then you want to buy a single out in P-ville?

My friend lives on 3rd ave and I found it very safe. I like Phoenixville. Collegeville is also nice. we recently sold our home in East Coventry, but there really isn't anything in that area to write home about
