Hi everyone,

Currently looking for an apartment in either Phoenixville or Conshy and would love any help I could get. Tried searching the forums but most threads seem outdated at this point.

Personally I'm 24 working in oaks, like to keep the rent to 900 and under which is what drew me to Pville. Being single a nightlife is important with other people my age but also looking for a safe area where I wont have to worry about my car getting broken into. Are there certain areas to avoid?

I plan to drive around both to get an idea of each area but also open to other suggestions.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've never been to Phoenixville, so I can't speak much about it--but I lived in Conshy for two years (just moved out a year ago), so I'm pretty familiar with it.

The place has a lot of good qualities to it: Some good bars and restaurants. Incredible location (intersection of 76 and 476, easy access to 276 / Turnpike), as well as R6 RR access. Fine area, safety-wise. Good people, including a sizable younger population. Nice community feel.

In Conshy, though, you'd probably be a lot farther from Oaks than in Phoenixville. And it's a decent social scene, but one that's easy to blow through; I got kind of bored with the place after 2 years, which is why I moved. Also, for as popular as it is, you might have a harder time finding a place under 900--or at least a decent place.

I will say that one big negative on Phoenixville is that, as nice as it seems to be, it's not a well-connected area. With no big transit connections, it seems kind of isolated and cut-off--the exact opposite of Conshy in that regard.

Phoenixville, Phoenixville, Phoenixville!

Very artistic, happening vibe. Convenient as heck to your job in Oaks, just take Bridge Street over to Mont Clare, and travel, what 5 minutes?, to Oaks on Egypt Road. To rent in the downtown heart of Phoenixville IS slightly difficult, as there are no apartment complexes. Your aim is to get a subdivided row house or semi. Try Craigslist, or realtor.com "rental" with your requirements in the boxes. I got 7 likely candidates for between $650 & $900 that way. http://www.realtor.com/homesforrent/.../price-400-900

Good Luck!

Two words: Sly Fox!

Sounds like Phoenixville is your spot. Why bother with a long commute if you don't have to?
