I don't mean to be harsh, but you may want to hunker down in as cheap a rental as you find, possibly file for bankruptcy to absolve debt, save some money, and reconsider your plans in five to seven years. Truthfully, your current dreams are unattainable.
I'm not a teacher, I hate kids. When I was in college, I had a paid internship as a technical writer, then I taught adults how to use the programs I wrote about. I LOVED that job and while there might be jobs around here, they all require a driver's license. Most jobs I would love to get into require a driver's license. I could see some of them because some do require travel to train. However, tech writer or admin assistant with no travel involved, why require a license? Maybe because of SEPTA not going out that far. The higher paying jobs in Philadelphia, I'm just not a match.

Bankruptcy is not an option. I'm paying it off, slowly, and living with my folks keep the rent cheap. The only thing that is expensive is my GF diet. I have Celiac and have to eat GF. That really made food shopping more expensive. I really need a new job. I have two, one doesn't pay well and it's geared towards people who don't drive. I've been there for almost 5 years and I'm not really learning anything. I used to write appeal letters and brought in a lot of money for the company, but the company was bought and they wanted their lawyers to write the letters. I have to mail merge those letters. It's awful and I want to get out of there before I become obsolete.

I eventually am going to have to move because a lot of jobs in this area all require a driver's license. I don't drive and I have no desire to drive; I can't continue working in low wage occupations.

I have a degree in history, specifically European history, which being African-American, seems very odd indeed.

But, I already had a career, which was absolutely the smartest thing I ever did because of what it was in: a little thing that was called "data processing" in 1970. The rest of that story is easy figure out.

Nevertheless, I'm a big believer in the liberal arts. And one can make a career out of it. My best friend did with an English degree. She was a science editor/writer at the NIH. And, yes, she knows Anthony Fauci.

But, this is all OT and TooBusy will say, "Stop!"

You're also 40 years older than the OP. Different times.

The friend I mentioned is 25 years younger than me. But, yes, true, different times. I didn't have college debt. I didn't live with my parents.
