haha very true. I do hope they redesign a bit of it after the littel portion of Vine is capped.

I do wonder what the area would be like now if the original parkway project had not torn down so much housing. There's only a bit of it left near Hallahan HS.

While Blanstein is fighting his battle to get 1001 South Broad approved, looks like the NW corner of Broad and Washington now has a proposal! If both corners of Broad and Washington can be developed, South Broad Street, Washington Avenue, and South Philly will forever be changed (for the astronomically better)!

Minus the "retail village" and parking podium, the Blatstein rendering looks a lot better than the first iterations.

Here's a weird/interesting fact, for me anyhow. There was a train station on that corner during the Civil War which took troops, who either walked or marched east on Washington Ave from Delaware Ave, to the battle theaters in the south.

It just shows that thecfabric of the city has changed multiple times.

Also the rendering on the phillymag site still has that strange warehouse thing, northside, next to it. Ugh...
