And not huge news, but Rittenhouse Square is undergoing a major renovation, new sidewalks, benches and center garden/fountain.

It's great. Nothing major has been done in years. I saw some small trees/bushes being delivered yesterday. Not too big a deal yet but the grass needs to be cut.

Agreed. Was there on Sunday and it was long then. Very excited for the upgrades. It's hard to believe that park could get any better.

Spruce Street Harbor Park is open now too. Can't wait to head over there this weekend.

There's also an article in this morning's Phila. Business Journal about Chicago's O'Hare being a mess and how Philly International is improving. Yah, for our team!

So 2 articles.

First, this blob of a building is going to be shorter than originally planned.
Shorter tower now planned for old Marketplace Design Center site

Next, the former Please Touch Museum is getting demolished for... more rowhomes. Another great building gone and a lost opportunity for dense multifamily housing. The neighbors weren't fond of Toll Brothers plan of building a 5 story condo building on the site. They have since backed out and now we get a group of oversized rowhomes. Similar projects are happening in Media and West Chester...

Small, but potentially awesome project on western Walnut St. Center City needs more of this.
Addition and Condos For the 2100 Block of Walnut Street? | Naked Philly

Renderings here.. 2108-2110 Walnut

Of course a few nearby neighbors are opposing the project for whatever silly reason.

I don't like the rendering at all. I especially don't like the roof add-on, and the infill, proposed for that odd parking lot, is unremarkable.
