A jeweler. The space is a single 2600-sf floorplate, roughly L-shaped.

Toll has said that four businesses already on the block have expressed interest in the space.

An historical designation for the remaining properties is the best we can hope for. As for simply crossing our fingers and hoping the rest of the block is not developed, I don't see that as realistic. As MarketL points out, a number of property owners who spoke were pro on the TB project. Wouldn't you be?

Further, it is unrealistic that jewelers by default will lease the street level space. TB will take whoever is willing to pay the most. Again, wouldn't you?

That's the whole thing, in a nutshell. These are all local businesses that are intertwined. There's a local jeweler where l currently live that has a jeweler in a back room, but for certain work the piece is sent to jewelers row in Philadelphia. Those places are also doing work for the retailers on jewelers row. If the retailers get spooked & leave, the manufacturers who also do repairs can start looking for another location. . .and so it goes. They won't all pick up & leave, immediately. It will be a drip, drip, drip.

I sure hope this project works out, it will add some new energy to Ardmore. They are losing ground on their counterparts: WC, Media, KoP, etc.

I agree with the criticism on the Washington Square side. It's really boring.

Perhaps some metal cladding like you see on the Murano would add some character and a perceived appearance of geometry.

Right. Millenials are all gonna be scandal and corruption free.

But, seriously, this is exactly the kind of thing we need.
