Dog food: http://menufoods.com/recall/product_dog.html (broken link)
At this time, it is my understanding that these foods are limited to canned and pouch-type foods.
There are some big names on the lists as well as store brands so please take a long look and take precautions. My little dog loves Publix brand food and will not eat anything else. They are on the list. I still have some of the food here, and it is going in the trash. Better safe than sorry! I was just at Publix yesterday to get more dog food, and there were no cans on the shelves. When I asked the woman straightening shelves where the dog food was, she said they ran out. After going online and seeing the dog food list, I would have appreciated Publix informing their employees and/or posting signs concerning same for those of us who were unaware of the pet food recall and also for those of us who purchase the contaminated brands for our pets so that we could throw away or return any of it (to ensure the health of our pets). Just more of that splendid customer service and thinking outside the box that is so abundant down here (but that is for another thread and another day)!
Hope this thread helps keep everyone's pets safe and healthy.

I was really surprised at some of the brands on the list - Eukanuba, Iams, Science Diet. Wow! I'd hate to lose my pet because I was feeding him/her something that I thought was good for them plus paying a premium to do that. I hope everybody's is safe.
Oh, I know . . . nomoresnow. My cat is on food that is only available at natural food stores. $2.58 per can and more than $15.00 per pound of dry! Scary what is going on with our food supply, in general, as of late.
I feed my dogs Nutro Max and wen't into a bit of a panic when I saw the article in Sundays paper. Just to let people know the concern is for "WET FOOD" only. If you feed your poochs dry food your OK!
I'm beginning to think that making the food ourselves is safer.
My vets office was flooded with patients and phones ringing non stop with worried pet owners. So sad...
It is the wet dog food with gravy. Mine was not on the list, but she eats the gravy wet food mixed with her dry food, I threw it out anyway. With more and more brands getting put on that list I was not going to take a chance. It is very scary with all of the food, human also. I don't ever remember something like this happening with our food supply. I think I am going to have a huge garden when we finally find our house and grow my own, and take up canning again. I bet it would not be hard to make dog food either!
I've thought about cooking for my furry family members; however, both dogs and cats need certain nutrients to be okay so not only would you be preparing food for them from presumably "safe" food, you would also need to become very well read up on vitamin requirements and somewhat of a chemist when it comes to mixing in just the right vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. Point well taken, though, and I am seriously thinking about it.
thanks for this
we feed dry
you know what I found strange
this one company makes all those different brands
so by paying more for the "fancy brands" are you getting the same formula as the less expensive ones .
