Hello. My name is Roland Sporrong. I am living in Sweden and I am searching for my relatives in US. My relative Clara emigrated to America 1903 and married a farmer Emil Nelson. They have three children as I know. Carl E Nelson, born 1906 in IL. Edith M Nelson born 1907 in IL. And Harry Nelsson born 1915 in IL. They were in 1910 and 1920 us cencus living in La Moille township. Dwelling number 59. Family visit number 59. Maybe there are descendants to them still living in this area. If somebody knows anything about these families, please let me know. My email address is: rs1937@hotmail.com
Thank you.

Default 1930 Census Emil/Clara Nelson

Roland: Though I'm not related to your people in Illinois, I just saw your post regarding this family and noticed that you didn't mention the 1930 Census. I took the liberty of looking it up for you, as follows:

Amel Nelson, age 56, born Sweden, Yr Immigration 1888, Farmer. His wife, Clara, age 49, born Sweden, Yr Immigration 1904. Their children: Edith, 23, single, born Illinois and Wilbur, age 16, born Illinois. This census indicates that Clara was age 24 and her husband was 30, at the time of their marriage. I would imagine they were married about 1904/05. NOTE: Emil was spelled Amel on this census.

The 1930 Census is the latest census open to the public at this time.

Good luck in all your searching.

Roise

you may want to try Augustana College at Rock Island Ilinois. They have complete history of Swedish immigration in Central USA.

Good luck
