I found out today that I have to leave my apartment in 2 months. I'm thinking about moving somewhere outside of Reading, and was wondering what everyone's thoughts of the Mohnton area are, and if anyone knows of apartments or houses for rent that are dog freindly?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I live in Sinking Spring, which is about 10 minutes away from Mohnton. The Mohnton area is very nice, and I'm sure it's one of the less expensive areas to live outside the city of Reading. I know someone in her late 20s who has a small apartment in Mohton, and she seems very happy there. Other really nice areas are Wyomissing, Sinking Spring, West Lawn, and areas of West Reading. They may be more expensive, though. The Reading area is really a great place to live.

The Reading area is kind of not a nice place to live.

The far out suburbs are kind of nice..I personally like Leesport.

Mohnton's a very interesting place. I drive through there once in a while just out of curiousity. It could be a setting in a Stephen King book, the place looks old and forgotten. Not creepy, just mysterious. I think its because its surrounded by hills and still has alot of old homes and buildings. I wouldn't worry about crime at all, though. Its surrounded on 3 sides by wooded hills and small farms and is adjacent to some very upscale rural developments and just beyond that by the edge of amish farms so its not a bad area.

Basically as long as you are across the river, it's more or less fine. And then from ther ethe further from the city, the better.

I currently live in Mohnton and have lived here for almost 11 years. It's an okay place to live but I personally don't like it. The people in this county SUCK, very snotty and unfriendly, the "city" is ugly, run down, expensive, high taxes, the only thing that's nice is the scenery. We're getting the hell outta here in the spring and moving some place cheaper!
