They get more snow than a lot of places in PA. Compared to State College, for example, Johnstown is quite a bit colder, windier, and snowier in the winter.

Not sure about the differences in the summer. I think it's again a bit cooler than most places in PA.

Johnstown is in the mountains.

The summers are quite pleasant but rainy. I lived in johnstown (born/raised) until i moved to ca @ age 17.3. My first summer here was mind blowing. I never experienced such intense heat & dry climate & it continued through most of oct. Indian summers in pa are tame compared to here. Halloween in j-town was always cool & crisp. Here its generally hot & dry. We have had thanksgiving & christmas days with highs in the low 80s. It gets boring after a long hot/dry summer. I do remember some winters in pa that were mild. In a way i wouldnt mind moving back to j-town but i would live in the richland & westmont area. I did attend westmont jr high school in 9th grade & that is a very nice area. I then when to vo-tech for 10th grade (4 1/2 months) & moved to ca the following jan.
