KETTERING, Ohio (AP) — Police in Ohio say a woman has been charged with child endangering after another motorist reported she was both breast-feeding a youngster and talking on a phone while driving.

Police in the Dayton suburb of Kettering say the caller told them he saw the woman Thursday.

Did she think she was special or something? She should have been cited for not having the baby in a safety seat. She could have pulled over where there was not traffic and fed her baby, then continued on if she was so concerned that her baby was going hungry.

I think all states should have a law against driving while using any kind of cell phone.

Stupid, stupid, stupid. I grew up near Kettering and this just amazes me! She's worried that the kid will go hungry, yet she's too stupid to realize that's she's endangering the child's life by not having him in his car seat, which is the law! I bet the kid was crying, so she couldn't hear on her phone, so that was her solution. I hope she gets the highest fine allowed.

Idiot!

I've got to say, I was visiting a friend in once, and she decided to breast feed her baby in the car (her DH was driving). She says to me that she thought it was the law that you could take the kid out of the car seat to nurse.

I was like WTH are you thinking??? It's not about the law it's about safety.

To be honest, just prior to that I was thinking that her DH was a crazy driver, he was going like 85 mph and MY precious cargo was in the car, thankfully buckled up in their car seats. I was feeling endangered!!!

Then she takes her infant out to nurse him!!

You gotta wonder what the hell people are thinking! (and these are educated people I am talking about.)

But if you think about it, if you're already reckless enough to drive without keeping your baby strapped in AND talk on the phone while the car is moving with an unsecured infant in the front seat, why not go for broke and throw in some breastfeeding too? It's sort of like the gravy on top of the icing.

There is no way that baby would have survived if the air bag had gone off. What is wrong with people? Just pull over!!!

I remember driving home with dd once when she was a baby. She would not stop screaming. I ended up pulling over, about 10 miles from home, and climing into the back seat to nurse her. There is NO EXCUSE for nursing in a moving car.
