I have a horor story. upon moving to fl after a horrible divorce in Alaska, I hired a 60 year old certified in home nanny. i was reffered to her from a co worker and i thoght she was a nice caring lady-to me anyways-s. well 2 weeks in, i get a call from a co worker saying they reported her to dcf for spanking my son,(3) even holding his face and shaking him i heard. That day i as well called dcf to ask them to come to my home and fill me in with ALL detatils and launch an investigation. well dcf came and my son was cleared of abuse, since ive never seen a bruise on him and neither did the investegator but still..I am still realing at this woman for ever even touching my son i dont care if he was "running around" like she explained! now im still left with guilt although my son is happy as ever and doesnt remeeber a thing. I still want to make her pay!! HER NAME IS LISA GOLDEN AND LIVES IN PALMBAY FLORIDA SO DONT EVER let your child go to her in home day care!! I was told by dcf i did the absolute right thing and i was a "protective mother' but i still feel guilty even tho i checked her backround ect..

Well, I really don't have any big bad horror stories. . and I think that is quite normal. Do your due diligence, of course, but most babysitters will be okay. It is easy to read the internet and scare yourself. . .
personally, I don't trust boys and/or men. I just wouldn't do it. Not only the sex. . (only about 4% or less of minor sex cases involved females) but the maturity of teenagers, and the differences (on average).

the thread is misleading, the parents say they hadn't had ANY baby sitter. .let alone a bad one. Fear
We have used sitter city consistently for our kids. The worst outcome is less than friendly college student or one who didn't actually show up.. . which made us late for an event.
I've even leveraged sitter city when I was in key west (worked out fine) and we have found really good baby sitters.
Bad stories can happen, i'm sure. Troll the internet and you can cherry pick them
but . .the internet is a big place, far more good stories than bad.
I am babysitting a friend's child currently. Most kids listen to me but this little girl is in her own world. She tries to boss my daughter around all the time. She constantly takes things from my daughter or jumps on her. Its really rough. I don't want to start anything with my friends so I continue to watch without saying how hard it really is. Plus, I hold back saying how things are because I know my friend over spanks her child. For every little thing the child does she gets spanked. I have also seen her pull her by the hair to make her leave when she wasn't listening to her. So, I don't want to tell her mother what she does at my house because I don't want her mother to hurt her.

Has this child been tested for a disability? Being in her own world and trying to boss kids around could have to do with autism.
How old is the child? Can you suggest early intervention services?

You need to set boundaries regardless for your own sanity, and the little girls. She'll start behaving better if you are consistent.
