Think about Ebola. Just ONE disease and one country. Travelers would have to have documentation for numerous diseases and from traveling fron all over the globe.

Impossible to implement on that large of a scale, including cost prohibitive,
Yes, that's exactly what I mean.

No, you just present it with your passport and or when you apply for your visa. No cost to the US at all. The responsibility falls on the traveler to obtain the documentation.

Small pox way back when was only one vaccination. Today their are numrous, and different ones, for different age groups. Would they have to be checking which ones are required based on age, special circumstances, etc. Would they be checking old people to see if they had their Shingles shots? Flu Shots??? WHAT vaccines? ALL of them which CDC recommends? Imagine what customs would be like? In addition to checking for TERRORISTS? You want to prevent people from traveling overseas, or on Disney crusies? This basically eliminates a lot of travel, for those who do not have a pressing reason to go, like business.

Think I will pass on the company cruise. Would not be worth it. Rather go to New York. Plans for inter state travel to? Maybe will skip the plane, which we do sometimes, and just drive. State National Guard around borders? ROFL

5 Infants Infected With Measles In Suburban Chicago Kinder Care

5 infants infected with Measles in a suburban Chicago day care center, all the confirmed or potential cases are infants who are too young to have received the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine. More cases are expected.

Yes, and someone would have to track that. Someone in the US would have to document who has what vaccinations. Or, people could just do the right thing and get their kids vaccinated.

The discussion is about measles.

Your attempt at snark is falling flat and tiresome.

Yes, getting vaccinated is the way to go.

Put a barcode on the documentation, scan it, tracking done, though I see no reason to even do it. Immunity to measles confirmed, you can come to the US. No immunity confirmed, you cannot. No one who is not a citizen has the right to come here.

You are a citizen and not vaccinated or immune by age or a titer? Take the vaccine or quarantine yourself for three weeks: stay at home.

Many other countries require vaccines prior to admission, I wonder how they police that.

It's just part of the visa process.

The US requires vaccines for legal immigrants. It should not be hard to extend the process specifically to measles.

What about for people visiting or traveling, but not immigrating? Do we really require it for immigrants, but not for people who already live here?
