We are talking about children here. Are you really going to think a child looks nasty because of their body?

Same for my daughter's. Those and skinny jeans are all she wants to wear. I got some a size larger from Old Navy, so they are not tight right now. But I had gotten her a size 0 pair from American Eagle, and they must have shrunk in the wash. They were skin tight, just tight. She needs to wear those with a long top from now on. Usually, she wears a top or hoodie that covers half of her rear. Anything that she puts on that is too tight has to be taken off and put in the Goodwill pile.

is nasty. Granted, I do think they work best with a certain body type but they're hardly "nasty."
Agreed. My daughter and niece like and wear them. Fortunately they have body styles (thin) that works well with jeggings.

Jeggings.. (in my humble yet fashionable opinion) can look great on nearly any body type. Most jeggings are thicker and supports/smoothes out the shape.

On little girls and teens they are adorable paired with tunics or layered tees.

Women of multiple body sizes can wear them. I actually find them more appealing on curvier women as it accentuates their shapes and gives some control UNLIKE leggings. The stretch factor provides an unmatched comfort that jeans only wish for.

I think women who wears size 0 and 2 don't benefit from them as it gives them a boyish shape.

If your teen is "meatier", as you put it, then the jeggings will only make her more attractive to older men so you should really check the length of her shirts.

Hmm. Maybe to you, but I try not to categorize preteens as "nasty," regardless of their body type and what they're wearing. YMMV.

Maybe YOU were talking about children. Some posters mentioned high school, and some mentioned adults.

Relax with the pearl-clutching.

If my 4'11" 65lb, 9yr old didn't wear leggings and jeggings she couldn't wear pants. I'm thankful for the legging trend as they've allowed my daughter to have clothing without having it altered. She's too skinny for slims so we sometimes buy a size smaller in slims and then have her wear boots to cover up how short the pants are, it's a nightmare.

Of course on her leggings are mostly not skin tight.

My 5 yr old wears them a lot in the fall/winter with her boots. I think they look cute on her. My 15 year old has 1 black pair that she wears with boots and long sweaters. I think it depends on body shape and what kind on top you wear with it. It can either look cute or trashy.
