My son is 12 years old. I have talked with him about puberty, and he says he has the following signs:

Dark, curly pubic hair that stretches not across the entire groin, not from fold to fold.
A little underarm hair, not that much but moderate brown and curly
No voice change
No ejaculation
Lots of random erections
Some acne
Very proportional body
Arm and leg hair can be overlooked, sometimes.
Nipples stick out with no muscles
No facial hair

Is this normal?

What did your doctor tell you when you asked him?

Yes, I would say he on a normal Puberty Track, You might want go get him a guy in his life he can talk to,

Most teen guys are not going to talk much to their mothers about puberty and/or sex.

The guys could be a friend, a brother, someone from your church etc.

To be more specific, he is 12 years, 2 months, and 11 days old. Also, I am the dad, so I am the "guy" he talks to.

Sounds like he is within the normal range. Our kids had friends that started "maturing" in about 6th grade and as late as 11th grade. It's quite a wide range. How old were you when your body started these changes?

I think it's quite normal. However, I wouldn't compare it to your experience with puberty because of all the hormones in the food. I think kids these days look older.

For goodness sake, someone finally said it.

Be more concerned with what is going on in his head, the one with a brain it in. Aren't you taking him for routine checkups? Surely the doctor can tell you if the physical development is on track.

Unbelievable.

Talk to your dad if he is around/available. Or your doctor.

Yes, pediatricians are used to these questions.
