There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. In a sane society the swim trunks would be unnecessary, but in a culture where so many people with incurably dirty minds casually ruin the lives of innocent people, it's probably a sensible precaution.

Psychological disturbance and millennia of hatred of the body.

It is if you drink the bath water, perhaps.

And what age would you consider that to be? The OP was references toddlers and/or pre-schoolers. It's a peculiarity of this country that nudity is so taboo. In my experience, children themselves decide when they wish to become more modest around others. I do wonder how some European countries manage to delay that.

For the record, I did not bathe with my sons. That was MY time, and the door got locked. But it wasn't due to modesty, it was due to a desire to relax without water play.

Nope, your skin gets in contact with other people's dirt.

You shouldn't bathe together with children older than 2 years old.

When your kid starts to talk about private parts and giggle, than it is time to stop even being naked around your child. My son came home from school once and told me a boy in his class was talking about his parents being naked and having sex.
