Shingles: Hope Through Research: National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) (http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/shingles/detail_shingles.htm - broken link)
Here, read it yourself.
Well, I read it and didn't see what you did, no surprise. Perhaps you could excerpt that piece. What I did see was this:
People who have been vaccinated against chickenpox are less likely to get shingles because the weak, “attenuated” strain of virus used in the chickenpox vaccine is less likely to survive in the body over decades.
This is exactly the opposite of what you're saying.

The doctors were not firing for not getting chicken pox vaccine, except in the case of specialists who treat the immune compromised i.e. cancer stricken children.
They are primarily choosing to refuse service to parents who do not get the measels, mumps, rubella, diptheria, etc vaccines. My daughters ped was refusing service to those who would not get the those years before this article came out but he did not care about the chicken pox one at all.
According to the terms of service, massive quoted passages and uncited quotes are NOT allowed. You are supposed to snip just a few sentences and provide a link. I try to give some leeway because sometimes a short paragraph will summarize the post nicely, but multiple paragraph quotes are not allowed. Also, uncited quotes are not allowed and will be removed. I can restore or amend anything I have deleted, so if you want to edit your post so the quotes can go back in, I can help you with that.
Also, please quit the "read it slowly" stuff. It's snarky and considered a personal attack.

I'd be fine about moving on from the chickenpox topic. I will say that many doctors were opposed to it at first. A death from chickenpox at Denver Children's Hospital shortly after the vaccine was licensed got most of the docs in this area onboard sooner.

JustJulia,
This was the source. She asked for me to point out where in the source I found the excerpt so I pasted the whole article and highlighted it for her. The source was the first to be posted, later came the article but I don't care if it's posted again. It's in there for anyone who wants to take the time to read it. Under shingles shot about midway through. No problem.
I rest my case actually. If a doctor fires patients for not getting vaccinated because of fears of transmission when vaccinated children can spread the virus as well I think he is an uneducated idiot. His claims are one sided. As a matter of fact an unvaccinated child is more likely to be kept home during an outbreak than one who assumes he is completely immune to the illness.
He isn't preventing anything he claims, he needs to go back to school and on top of it he is helping create a prejudice among patients in his practice. I would never see a doctor like that.
This isn't about me not wanting vaccines it is about me not wanting a doctor that is an idiot. Case Closed!
Did you see my post from last night? Doctors fire patients all the time for one reason or another. Maybe you should start asking your doctors if they've ever fired anyone for any reason, if it seriously bothers you that much.
I think you are thinking about smallpox vaccination, not chickenpox. It was not licensed for use in the US until 1995.
I got the chicken pox vaccine in 2001 when I was 16 because I had never come in contact with chicken pox. I got a pock on my leg from the vaccine which left a scar.
Do you think this is right? I kind of do. If I had a baby who was too young to be vaccinated and I was waiting with her in the waiting room for a routine check up and a kid with the measles comes in and she catches it and dies because of it I would be angry at the other family for their actions.
Take a good look at the website she is quoting (Vactruth). I did. Its hard to find more than a couple of names connected to it. I didn't find any medical doctors, any scientists, any chemists, any biologists. What I did find reference to was a man named Aufderheide who was a navy "rescue swimmer" who is upset that his child came down with some developmental issues and blames vaccination for it despite the lack of any scientific support. I also found references to woman named Katherine Frompovich who apparently claims to have "matriculated in studies of holistic modalities and natural nutrition support." In other words, she is an herbalist.
I haven't had a chance to look at the articles Poppysead has cited yet. If I have time, I'll get to that. I'll bet when I do there isn't one from a reputable scientific journal.
