Seriously hop off my back today, I am under a lot of stress, like more so than usual, if you care to know you can DM me but please I ask of you to not crawl all over me today. I can't handle it.
You don't get to come here and ask to be left alone. If you can't handle it, log off and find something else to do. As usual, you want the best of both worlds - to be a teen-like college student for the fun part, but to be treated like a full-fledged adult for everything else. It just doesn't work that way.

Its a celebration. If you vacation during that time, you're going to be going places with spring break festivities.
You are taking a break during the spring as well, hence you are going on a spring break....

A vacation happens any time of the year but when you go SPECIFICALLY during that time, SPECIFICALLY to those places with the parties, the MTV crews, etc, you are going on spring break.
Spring break is a break from SCHOOL. If you are not a student it's just a vacation. I hope you enjoy your vacation. Have fun.

I'll only take one if I remember to check the local high schools break times.
I want to go the week they are gone, most likely I will forget.

I think it will be impossible to go away and not be overrun with kids. I know it gets crazy here during February. Lots of people go on ski vacations during Feb and schools have their spring break during different weeks. I guess all the folks that don't go skiing come here for the warm weather.

IME, grown ups who aren't restricted by a school schedule would choose any other week of the year to take a vacation, rather than go the same week everyone else will be there, and prices will be higher.

When I lived in Southern California, "the river" (Lake Havasu) was the popular place to go. I don't hear much about people leaving for spring break in Illinois, but that may be because I was not a kid here and my children aren't old enough yet. People here seem to go to Disneyworld a lot. Anything to get out of the cold, I suppose!

What is being discussed is a BREAK from the SPRING semester.

When non-college going adults go on vacation it is NOT SPRING BREAK.

The term "spring break" is the American English colloquilism used to refer to the period of time students (emphasis mine) take a reprieve from the grind of classes and studying. You are not a student. The proper term applicable in your situation is "vacation". Age is not a variable in the correct use of that particular term.

I, myself, usually spent my spring break writing papers and earning a paycheck from my employer.
