Nah....that was our experience too. We have one and when DD was that age, I though "great!" went in. Small crowded store with stuff jammed everywhere so I thought again, "this place must be great, everyone is here"....I looked at the prices and thought "so where are the deals? I can find brand new stuff for just a few dollars more or even the same price if I shop smart." Never went in again. Meh

My niece just got back from her month studying in Rome. They had a guide that took a group of 8 students to all the "must sees". The Vatican, Pompeii, the beer factory... That's the way to see things. Personal guide.

How was the wedding, rkb?

Good Day Everyone!

This morning we attended a service at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, the church of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It was inspiring and overwhelming, even for a big ol' atheist like me. I don't know why we waited so long to attend, but I would highly recommend it, it really is an experience unlike any other. I nearly squeed myself as I got to shake the hand of Christine King Farris, MLK Jr.'s sister. My kids thought it was the best thing we have ever done. And might I just add that the pastor may just be one of the most attractive men I have seen in many years .

Then we went to The King Center, an incredible tribute to the legacy of MLK and Coretta. A very emotional and uplifting experience.

Now I'm off to the pool for an alcoholic beverage. I know, the irony!

This week I finally got around to seeing 2 big movies that I some how missed. The Social Network - which I enjoyed much more than I anticipated. And The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - which I thought was fantastic. I am really aggravated that they feel the need to make an American version though, I love the freshness of foreign movies.

Dew -

Aaaargh!! I have been trying all day to get a stupid wireless router to work with my new Xfinity internet (I had to bite the bullet and change over to something) and it just won't go. Actually I've bought two routers and the whole thing has been a freakin comedy of errors. (not by moi, obviously ).

What a load of carp. I have my main comp hooked straight up to the box, but I can't get the router working to network the others. Aaaargh.

You would think by now they could make a router that would just plug into the modem and Voila! it recognizes the ISP and works. But ooooh no. Bah humbug.

Ok, I feel better now, thanks.

Sorry Fin, that sucks! You would indeed think routers would be more plug 'n play by now.

Sorry Fin - that is frustrating. Glad I have DH or DS to mess with all that. Although DS gets on these kicks to "make things better" and I'm not sure for whom he is doing that... like when he made my printer wireless. Umm.... don't think so dude. That was a huge pain - great for him since he could use it. Horrible for me since I had to keep changing wireless networks to use it!

Thankfully I'm back to normal now.

More rain tonight - I really can't remember the last time we've had such an amazing monsoon flow. It's clockwork each day and I've been able to turn my sprinklers off - even better!

DH made me a birdhouse today! Well, more like a bird mansion - it's quite large. That was our excitement. Pretty boring overall.

Good morning, sunshines!

Zim - what a neat experience! How did the kiddos like it?

FR - ugh, routers and other fun gadget-related nonsense! How frustrating. Shall we file under "why do something once when it can be done three or four times?"

And my overwhelming reaction to the day thus far: Bah.
