As much as I admire David Crosby's singing/writing ability. I do admit that every time I see him I think of the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz. And vice versa.
Poor lil me. My mouth is SORE! I feel like I got my wisdom teeth out. I mean its not THAT bad but it still hurts. My eye kinda hurts too. I hate the way all the nerves in your head are attached.
Anon - if I would have sung out a window, I'd have noise complaints levied against me. That is a gift I missed out on completely.
I was blessed with musical parents. My dad was a concert pianist and my mom had an amazing ear and did a mean Bumblebee Boogie on the piano. I ended up playing a variety of instruments throughout my life, from guitar, viola, and piano, to sousaphone, baritone, and glockenspiel. I stayed mostly with guitar from the time I was 10 to now but I was classically trained on the viola. I performed as a "street musician" for three of my four years of college, and three years following graduation, did some benefit concerts, and sang backup vocals on a couple of 45's for two of the street bands (one of which I was an active member, the other I was just a fan).
My claim to fame: I used to play guitar across the street from where Tracy Chapman played hers, in Harvard Square.

Get thee some Nurofen Plus (or some other strong anti-inflammatory) as soon as you can!
She just said to take tylenol. I have never taken pain killers. My mother never allowed them. It kinda carried over into my adult life.
You do realize you can increase the dosage of tylenol, right? Make sure you look up the daily limits because too much is deadly. Or just call the doc and ask her how high of a dose you can go.
My medical recommendation for gum pain: a strong, room-temperature ale. Beer and ale contain hops, which are an herbal anasthetic. The fizz keeps the sugar from sticking to the gum (which could cause bacterial problems), the alcohol also kills bacteria, and the whole thing combined will make you have to pee. Although that doesn't make your gums feel better, it will distract you momentarily, and that's a good thing.
