I'm heading out shortly to take my old raisin eater to the vet.
I'm hoping for a non-surgical solution because I'm not sure he's strong enough to endure anesthesia.
But something needs to be done about the cyst on his head. It's becoming a health hazzard to the rest of us.
Speaking of dogs, maciesmom or any other book readers here, have you read The Art of Racing In the Rain? I just bought it. I need warned if it's going to make me sad.

Good luck at the vet....
Have not read that one so no recommendations or warnings....sorry!
I need a warning: What about "Water for Elephants". Anyone read it? Is it sad? I've had that book on my shelf for months. Don't want to read it if someone dies and I'm going to get all blubbery and depressed. No spoilers but is it going to make me weepy? (Happy weepy is OK.)

Did read it...I thought it was OK....but didn't get the hype....there are some sad parts but I'm thinking the hardest will be the mistreatment of the animals...
Planning to see it in the next few weeks with my GFs....

Thanks, MM. Mistreatment of the animals was one of the things I was afraid of. OK. It now goes in my "take to the used bookstore to re-sell" bag.

Actually Dew, my MIL bought the classic version of Bambi for MissFR for her bday - she asked me had I seen it but I never had, so I told her it made my friend Dew very sad and that I didn't think MissFR was ready for it.
I said I wouldn't watch it either. I can't do animals getting killed.

I'm kind of honored. (Shuffles feet. Bless you.)
My brother and I were talking about Bambi just this week. We were discussing what Disney is putting back in the vault and started talking about how traumatized we both were when we first saw Bambi as kids. And he's three years older then me.
Good morning all. Happy Earth Day! Don't forget to take a reusable cup to Starbucks for your free cup of coffee. We have a busy few days ahead, and many questions to answer about why the Easter Bunny leaves eggs, apparently it defies logic, and DD8 has not been happy with any of my pathetic attempts to answer so far.
And I definately need coffee this "morning"...
10 hour ride along, fell asleep at 8am, woke up shortly afternoon....I am going to be dragging in a few hours.
I just started Water for Elephants. I'm on ch 2 I think. This is the first time I've been ahead of schedule with my book club. Our next discussion is on Undress Me in the Temple of Heaven.
I just worked my 2nd to last church nursery shift. Made about $10. Spent about $10 on the way home
While at the vet, I read the first three pages of The Art of Racing In the Rain and it already brought tears to my eyes.
I'll stick with it because the reviews say it's heart-wrenching but humorous and ultimately an uplifting story.
The narrator is an old family dog.
Good news: The vet thinks there's a chance he can be treated wtih antibiotics only. In two weeks, we'll decide if he needs surgery.
