There is a lot of nurse pornography, too. Doesn't make it right. For some reason, perverts seem to think that b/c nurses "know it all" that they are all over-sexed and available for whatever these guys want to use them for. Between "Nurse Ratched" and the porn, nurses get a pretty poor image.

I will not allow myself or my children to be so afraid as to live their lives around that fear. It's ridiculous, IMO.
I don't believe you have to raise children in fear in order to protect them. If you keep them out of situations that they are not yet ready to handle that does not have to be done in an atmosphere of fear. If my 16 year old son touched your 12 year old who put herself out there (through your desire to let her do what she wants) I bet you would be quick to label him a pervert.

Does he know she's 12? No? Then no, I wouldn't say that. Yes? Maybe not a perv, but stupid, yes.

Trick or treating is a situation a six year old is ready to handle. All children should be aware of kidnapping issues and be armed with knowledge and information.

I've never heard of a kid kidnapped, molested, etc because of the costume she was wearing. The idea is just so silly.

I am concerned about girls being placed in situations that they are not yet ready to handle. I think that putting girls out there in outfits that make them look older and more ready for sexual activity than they actually are can place them in situations they are just not ready to handle.

Trick or treat, or Halloween parties are not times when kids come into contact ONLY with kids their own age. There are often neighbors and friends who are older than the girls. There are other kids on the street who are considerably older than the girls who are out in their hooker like costumes. I am not concerned about the high school kids kidnapping or molesting them, but I am concerned that they may get into situations that are not appropriate for young kids. It doesn't have to be something like a child molester to be an issue. It could just be a high school kid who thinks a girl is older than she is.

My concern too about these sl*t costumes is that they degrade the professions they represent. I don't think it's OK to portray nurses, teachers, maids, etc as sluts. None of the guy costumes are designed to make them look like pimps.

That and it is just not the message I want to send my daughter about who she is and can be, and how she portrays herself to others. How you dress sends a message. It is the same reason I feel sad when I see sweet little 5 yo boys dressing like "gangstas"...

And before someone jumps on me...yes I understand that Halloween is dress up but these trends unfortunately are not limited to Halloween - they are very reflective of the trend of oversexualizing children every day.

I used to dance in clubs and at parties. You don't think there were plenty of cowboys, cops, doctors and firemen?

Now, let's all be disgusted!

Some people have no sense of humor.

Last things first, I would never let my child dress up like Hitler. And before you tell me, "he picked it out", that child is very young, probably can't tell you his last name.

Moving up,

A Muslim bomber? That doesn't look like a pimp costume, either, and is also in extremely poor taste. I'd rank it right up there with Hitler.

These parents have no sense.

Now, to the others:

Since when is a blackjack dealer a pimp? (The kid looks like a girl, anyway.)

A dollar bill costume? Is that what pimps wear?

I knew someone would bring up "sense of humor". You might not think it too humorous if you were a member of a profession routinely thought of as sex workers.

I'll bet you like to make bawdy jokes to nurses, too, and/or accuse them of being sadists.

No, my own fetish leans toward dental hygenists and exotic dancers.

But I see you really seem to have a thing for pimps.
