I never named "stuff" but 35-40 years ago there was an invisible third child living in the house that its two siblings had a name for......it was "Not me".

I refer to both my cars as My Good Friend.

It's hotter than blazes outside or it's below freezing, you awake your car from a deep sleep, and rudely, dictatorially, tell them: You're taking me to the store!

It's snowing outside, the roads are slick, you drag its butt out on the roads
with little concer whether or not it will make it back to its comfy home alive, or severely injured, facing a long recuperation at a "hospital", with incompetent "doctors".

Try doing that sometime with your best friend, rudely awake them out of a deep sleep, and order them around!

Gx 470 - Goldie

these are just my cars, but 'their' cars have names, too.

And, we have one of those tiny, disk rotating vacuums...it twirls around....can't think of what they are called.....got it from Sharper Image.....(man, one of my favorite stores...gone...sigh).... Anyway, her name is Rosie......because you turn her on and she goes by herself and does her thing.......just like Rosie with the Jetson's...

My husband does kung fu and he hits half of a body called 'Bob', but he and our girl renamed him Simon....

And yea, it's good to talk to your plants.....I inherited one when my friends moved away.....Xmas cactus....her name is Carolann.....
WOW Wurzig!!! It is going to be hard when you move and have to put all your friends in the boxes.

Everything and everyone has several names. Depends on my mood at the moment. My work computer receives the most abusive names though!!!

My Aunt called everyone "George", that way she always remembered!

I have some pretty colorful pet names for cars weaving in and out on the high way but I think CD would filter them out.

My wife's father did that when she was in high school for the same reason - but everyone was Sam.
