One of those tricky ones. Key words: make you feel. I don't think you can always control how you feel. But you can always control your reaction.
Even if someone catches you by surprise and says something obnoxious...consider the source. They can't be too great a prize if they go around insulting others.

I tend to agree with you.
I think this is because we are less prone to feel intimidated by someone younger than we are ...........so the older we get the less people there are to make us nervous.
Just a personal observation but I think now most of the insulting bullies from my high school days are either dead or in prison. Somehow they managed to take care of the problem themselves.
I've heard that at high school reunions the football guys are mostly fat and bald. The nerds are now CEOs. The bouncy girls are mostly fat (and bald? ). The wallflower girls have blossomed. Some people peak in high school.
