Oh so true. I have many acquaintances but no real true friends except for my hubby. Too many life changes.
I think it is much easier to have friends when you are in the same boat. You know...in school together, starting careers together, raising families at the same time...etc. It's hard for me because I always seem to be in a different boat than people my age.

The interesting point made here along with the realization and understanding is something that still perplexes me when I hear adults whining about not having friends or talk about how few they have, like ....Helllo
by the look of it, people have more internet friends than real tangible friends
That is so true.
Like others, I have a few aquaintances but no one close except my loving wife. I learned a long time ago when the money ran out, or stopped, the so called friends disappeared.
I am part of a pretty large circle of childhood friends that all grew up together and we are still in contact with each other via email and an occasional newsletter. We have reunions in various places every year. We are scattered hither and yon but I'm still pretty close to some of them.
Funny, but almost all of the other friends I made along the way as an adult have gone their own ways and we aren't in contact any longer.

This is true. I spend more time with my online friends than I do my other friends. Internet friends are cool because you can hang out without having to straighten your house, brush your hair or share your beer.

I agree. True friends, such as friends that you could call anytime and they would help you out with something you needed help with, are priceless.
