I'm at the point where I only go to the dentist for check-ups and cleanings.

If I could go back in history it would be to the 60s, anywhere where I could enjoy the decade again.

No aprons.

The basement has the biggest gallimaufry.

Today's Question(s):
Yesterday we asked the last time you visited the Dentist, so it got me thinking

When you have to have "work done" at the Dentist which is your choice to make getting the work done easier

Nothing(I can't imagine but there might be a few of these folks)
Load me up with Novocaine
Laughing Gas - the higher you crank it the better
The new Dental Relaxation pills
Knock me out and wake me when it is over

Whatever makes it painless, I wish they would knock me out all the time

Bonus Question:

The "History Fairy" is coming to visit. She will magically fly you back in time

Where will you go ?
What would you want to try doing ?
What you would bring back ?
Probably the 1800's California, the Oregon Trail. Be a pioneer and shoot guns and pan for gold.
Extra Credit Question:

In what part of you house will you find the biggest gallimaufry ?
That would be the junk drawer.
Just for Fun:

Do you have any aprons in your home ?No

Do you wear them ? No

Today in History:
1812 - Peter Gaillard of Lancaster, Pennsylvania patents a horse-drawn mower
1920 - 1st Pro football playoff game Buffalo-7, Canton-3 at Polo Grounds
1923 - Cecil B DeMille's 1st version of "Ten Commandments" premieres
1977 - NFL's 5,000th game, Cincinnati beats Kansas City 27-7

Word of the Day:
gallimaufry \gal-uh-MAW-free\ , noun;
1. A hodgepodge; jumble; confused medley.

Today is:
National Cookie Day My 80 year old Dad just made the Neiman marcus cookies, they were yummy!
Wear Brown Shoes Day
Day of the Artisans
Apron Day
National Dice Day
Ribbons and Wrap Day
Santa's List Day

Hey Karla and all the QOTD'ers! Popping in to visit and see what you're all up to - have missed you!

Today's Question(s):

(Dentist) Nothing - I have done that before with fillings but usually the dentist gives me Novocaine

Where will you go? 1920's NYC
What would you want to try doing? I would want to be a flapper!
What you would bring back? My wardrobe!

In what part of your house will you find the biggest gallimaufry? My studio takes the prize!

Do you have any aprons in your home? yes
Do you wear them? sometimes; depends on what I'm cooking

1923 - Cecil B DeMille's 1st version of "Ten Commandments" premieres. I always loved that movie, even though the acting was cheesy.

National Cookie Day - yummy, got here just in time!
Wear Brown Shoes Day - probably won't

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Hi everyone, Karla....it was a brisk 28 here this morning and is still only 37!!!!

**** Important QOTD announcement*****

As most of you have noticed, this is a busier than normal time of year.
So in order to free up a little time here in NE FL there maybe a Saturday or Sunday when the QOTD takes the day off.

I just wanted to give you all a heads up so you don't log in one weekend morning and not find a QOTD and worry that something happened.
I may just be sleeping in or am working on one of the "bazillion" house projects we have to get done by the end of the year.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and we can now continue with our regularly scheduled program

Completely understand Karla, and that is why I've been neglecting coming here lately, busy, busy, busy with holiday decorations, christmas parties, etc that we do for our business and charities....as well as family.

I've had the gas, it's ok, the novocaine can sometimes make me go into orbit , never had the pills but might be something I will try or ask about, and would prefer to be knocked out....I hate dentists and have spent many more hours with them than I care for.....last year, I had all my upper teeth crowned and bridged.....that was quite the painful experience, both to the body and to the pocketbook!!!

Bonus Question:

The "History Fairy" is coming to visit. She will magically fly you back in time

Where will you go ? hmm, there are so many places I would love to go, the stable on the night of the birth of Christ, to hear Lincoln speak, to see how the West really was, to see our country as she became a nation, to seeing my parents in their childhood...there are many more places I would want to go but these are top of the list...
What would you want to try doing ?oh my, I can't think but am sure I would try something from the time period!
What you would bring back ? who knows!

Extra Credit Question:

In what part of you house will you find the biggest gallimaufry ?at the moment that would be my son's room and dh's closet

Just for Fun:

Do you have any aprons in your home ? yes and yes
Do you wear them ?

Today's Question(s):
Yesterday we asked the last time you visited the Dentist, so it got me thinking
When you have to have "work done" at the Dentist which is your choice to make getting the work done easier

Nothing(I can't imagine but there might be a few of these folks) I had to have a wisdom tooth pulled. It had to come out. Medicine to take away the infection was something I was allergic to. No choice. Was this painful? HAHAHA. At other times, just a needle with whatever was the going thing at the time.

Bonus Question: The "History Fairy" is coming to visit. She will magically fly you back in time
Where will you go ?Far back would be Egypt and Rome. More current times would be the 1950s when I was in my 'teens.
What would you want to try doing ? Explore the Pyramids while they were being built and also explore the Fantastic water ways of the Romans. 50's...just finish school, not get married.
What you would bring back ? From ancient times, a schematic of their projects both big and small. 50s...Satisfaction....... a sense of accomplishment

Extra Credit Question:

In what part of you house will you find the biggest gallimaufry ?Non food stuff would be in my family/office room. Yuk, what a mess it is now!

Just for Fun:

Do you have any aprons in your home ? Oh, yes!
Do you wear them ?
I have for Christmas. One very long one and another shorter ne. Love to war the long one over a long skirt.

Today is:
National Cookie Day....I may take time to bake some, and then again, I may not!!!
Wear Brown Shoes Day...couldn't find any brown tennis shoes.
Day of the Artisans
Apron Day... Yes, I do have a few.
National Dice Day
Ribbons and Wrap Day...I found these.
Santa's List Day[/quote]...guess I'd better get to work on mine.

Karla, you do deserve to take some time off. You are the greatest. And there are a couple of people that could assist on those days. Wish that I could, but it does take talent.

This one!!!
Laughing Gas - the higher you crank it the better

This one!!!
Knock me out and wake me when it is over This one!!!

If it's just a small cavity novocaine is enough but if the work is extensive I prefer to have everything they'll give me!!...LOL. I don't care for the laughing gas though, it just makes me dizzy and I still feel the pain.

Bonus Question:

The "History Fairy" is coming to visit. She will magically fly you back in time

Where will you go ?
Back to the period when Jesus was alive. I would love to meet him in person.
What would you want to try doing ? I'd probably just follow Jesus around and do whatever he wanted me to do.
What you would bring back ? Not sure, but I'm sure I'd find something worth bringing back.

Extra Credit Question:

In what part of you house will you find the biggest gallimaufry ?

In one of my extra bedrooms, it's a mess in there!

Just for Fun:

Do you have any aprons in your home ?
No
Do you wear them ? No

Today is:
National Cookie Day- YIPEEEE!!!!! I think I'll celebrate by eating some cookies!!..oh wait..I don't have any.

Enjoy your time off Karla, and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

The new Dental Relaxation pills
Knock me out and wake me when it is over

Bonus Question:

The "History Fairy" is coming to visit. She will magically fly you back in time

Where will you go ? late 1800's

When you have to have "work done" at the Dentist which is your choice to make getting the work done easier

Nothing (I can't imagine but there might be a few of these folks)

With the exception of root canals, this would indeed be me. I loathe that novocaine needle and the after-effects, so I've had all my cavities filled without using anything.

Bonus Question:

The "History Fairy" is coming to visit. She will magically fly you back in time

Where will you go ? Munich, Germany, late 1920.
What would you want to try doing ? I'd murder Adolf Hitler before he could even come close to gaining the following he did.
What you would bring back ? His head on a pike.

Extra Credit Question:

In what part of you house will you find the biggest gallimaufry ?

The basement.

Just for Fun:

Do you have any aprons in your home ? No.
Do you wear them ? Hard to wear something I don't have, so no.

Today is:
National Cookie Day Hey, that's what I had for breakfast!
Wear Brown Shoes Day And that's the color of my Ugg boots that I'm wearing, too!

Well, 2 out of 7's not too bad.

I'm so happy it's Friday! Hope everyone has a great day!!
