That would have to be right now -- reading Today in History and seeing that in 1820 tomatoes were deemed nonpoisonous -- wow, I didn't know they were ever considered poisonous!
Tomatoes are a plant in the Nightshade family some of which are very poisonous and everyone assumed tomatoes would be too. Read the first paragraph or two in the first link. You may be surprised at the list.

The family in general:

Solanaceae - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Belladonna (Deadly Nightshade):

Atropa belladonna - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is interesting that what we have come to think of as traditional Italian cuisine.... couldnt have been known until the mid 1800's.

SORRY I'M A LITTLE LATE ON THIS!!!

Today's Question(s):
OK I am coming to your town for the day.

What is the one thing I should not miss seeing ?

There is so much on the Suncoast.... I have to say the South Florida Museum in Bradenton. That's where the 60 year old Snooty the Manatee lives.

Is there a "famous" tourist attraction I shouldn't miss ?

In Sarasota by the bay, there is a statue of the famous World War II scene of the sailor and the nurse kissing (at the end of the war) that a lot of people like to go see.

What is the one Non- chain restaurant I have to try ?

Popi's Place

Bonus Question:

Haven't asked this on in awhile, so it is time
What was the last thing that made you say
Wow, I did not know this ? That NASA won't be sending any more space shuttles out after this year.

Extra Credit Question:

What is something that most folks have in their home that you won't find in yours ? Cat or Dog.

Just for Fun :

Wine - Red or White Red
Chocolate - milk or dark Dark

Do you have a bottle of honey in your home ? No.
If yes, what is the thing you use it for the most ?
