Hmmm, theres really not a lot to see or miss up here, but Wrightwood, Lake Arrowhead, Big Bear, Crestline, are all mountain lakes and territory and its really pretty. All the other attractions are 'down the hill'. Beach. Sea World. Magic Mtn. Disneyland. Knotts Berry Farm. Universal Studios. Etc.

We have a few ma-and-pa cafes out here, and I know of one where breakfasts are definately homestyle!
The thing most folks might have in their homes might be automation. These days, builders are required to use motion sensor lighting and in-ceiling can lights... with those hard to find prong-style bulbs instead of screw in. something I will NEVER have in a home of my own.
I dont drink wine, gimme a beer!
Milk, doesnt matter, chocolate or white, as long as its not that watered down stuff.
We have 1 bottle of honey for tea or oatmeal here.

Good morning everyone!

Today's Question(s):

What is the one thing I should not miss seeing?

The old city Market

and the Sweetgrass Basketmakers there.

Is there a "famous" tourist attraction I shouldn't miss?

The Battery

and Rainbow Row around the corner.

Or the Angel Oak

which is over 1500 years old and HUGE!

What is the one non-chain restaurant I have to try?

The Wreck of the Richard and Charlene (or as the locals call it, simply The Wreck).

http://gastronoise.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/wreck.jpg (broken link)

It looks like a mess but it has the best seafood in town. It's right on the creek where the shrimpboats come in; the actual "wreck"ed boat is to the left, out of the photo. It was wrecked during Hurricane Hugo.

What was the last thing that made you say "Wow, I did not know this?" The only thing that comes quickly to mind is "Wow, I didn't know exactly how AIG f**cked up their business but now that I do, I'm even angrier!"

What is something that most folks have in their home that you won't find in yours? probably alcohol; I no longer partake

Wine - red or white - neither
Chocolate - milk or dark - dark

Do you have a bottle of honey in your home? yes
If yes, what is the thing you use it for the most? tea

1762 - 1st reported counterfeiting attempt, Boston - and they never stopped trying
1820 - tomato is proven non-poisonous - ahahahahahaha; didn't know they ever thought it was!
1914 - World War I began - War, uh, good God, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing! (I said war, not soldiers!)
1917 - Raggedy Ann doll invented - good ol' Raggedy Ann
1919 - World War I ended - exactly five years after it began - thank goodness.

National Tapioca Day - my mom used to eat our tapioca baby food when she fed it to us! LOL!
Paul Bunyan Day - he was BIG.
America's Kids Day - isn't that every day?
Descendants Day - cool
Fish Are Friends Day - huh? I guess I eat my friends.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Okay Karla, you asked - The 108 degree high we're expecting today... But it's a dry heat! - I would say our scenic desert, and the most prominent item we have here, the Saguaro Cactus... this time of the year (until early or mid October) you might want to see it from my air-conditioned truck or SUV..

Is there a "famous" tourist attraction I shouldn't miss ?
It's not in Phoenix, but about 180 miles away, the Grand Canyon.

What is the one Non- chain restaurant I have to try ?
You mean besides McDonald's? - Pappa Deaux, or the Cracked Crab - Very good seafood.

Bonus Question:
Haven't asked this on in awhile, so it is time
What was the last thing that made you say
Wow, I did not know this ?
LOL.. I knew that answer a couple of days ago, but I can't remember it today..

Extra Credit Question:
What is something that most folks have in their home that you won't find in yours ?
LOL.. I think most of you know that answer - A Wife.. I also know you'll never see anything pink in my house!

Just for Fun :

Wine - Red or White - Whatever color Boone's Farms comes in.. Do they have beer-colored wine? - I don't drink wine that often, maybe 2 or 3 times a year, and it's usually red.
Chocolate - milk or dark - Either one, as long as it's sugar-free.

Do you have a bottle of honey in your home ? - I'd like to have a honey.. without the bottle! - Actually I use a natural sweetener called Agave, which is similar to honey, I use it moderately, and it's good for diabetics.
If yes, what is the thing you use it for the most ? - Oh I don't know, it makes a good decorative item on the shelf.. - I use it when I eat the Wheat Germ cereal.

Don't come now. Where I am now has absolutely nothing of interest. However, when I get to Delaware, come visit and you can see a few famous tourist attractions, like Dover Downs and Rehoboth Beach ... and as far as a restaurant, if you DON'T like barbeque, you will after I take you to "Where Pigs Fly".

What is something that most folks have in their home that you won't find in yours?

No garbage disposal and no big screen TVs.

Chocolate - milk or dark. Yes and yes and semi-sweet and just about any other kind of chocolate you can find!
