People who have never been sick who believe people who are sick never took care of themselves, never ate right or never made an honest living. I just met such a person yesterday.

I rarely get sick. However with my eating habits I have no room to pass judgement on those who get sick.

I dont' like to pass judgement on this either. I just really feel for those that get sick over and over again all their lives.

Who would want to be ill or sick in the first place? Through no fault of their own, they are sick in many cases.

Healthy people have a good working immune system and that prevents most illnesses and health issues. Support the immune system with eating healthy, exercise, and avoid the known things that cause health problems and you’ll stay in good shape most of your life.

Some people don’t have an immune system that’s working correctly and they get ill through no fault of their own. Other people will cause their own demise with poor health habits.

Eat right, put your coat on in cold weather, and stay away from drinking and you’ll live long enough to get killed in a car wreck.

I know what you mean Alice..I have always been very healthy and sometimes wondered about some family members who constantly complain of illness, aches and pains..We all have different levels of pain tolerance and immunities, so I am more apt to give them a little sympathy than a lecture on their lifestyles..

Seriously, in some cases some conditions are a result of genes that get passed down from previous generations - I've been a type I diabetic since the age of 14, I'm 52 now and I have been taking care of myself, which is why I'm still alive and everything in my body still functions normally... okay, some of you might question my last statement, but my brain has a mind of its own..

I have to be on a very strict no sugars, very low carbs and starch diet, otherwise, when glucose levels are constantly high in the body, kidneys quit working, eyes and limbs go bad, and blood vessels harden up.

By the way, diabetes is a condition, not a disease.

You’re absolutely correct Mike in some cases through no fault of their own, they are sick or have an illness. You have a condition that you didn’t cause or want, but you do control your health with eating correctly and avoiding alcohol and smoking. You also dress for cold weather, get plenty of rest and exercise.

This thread is a spin off of the other day where people gave opinions as lawyers and doctors.

Now go take two aspirins and call me in the morning.
