People who date others with pets and as soon as they start to cohabit, complain about the dog or cat that was there all along. What is wrong with these people that think they can replace someone's pet?

That is very annoying. I have known people that had to get rid of their pets when they married because the new spouse didn't like them.

I lived in an apartment that didn't allow pets when I met my dh, so there were no issues there, but he is an animal person, too, so there would not have been any problems.

I am sorry but I will only suck up to that miserable, mangy, flea bitten mutt for so long. Once I move in the mutt and any kids are off to military school.

Can you really trust people who can't love pets... (And I mean the "normal" pets; dogs, cats, hamsters, wabbits (!), fish...)

I'll accept normal pets, like a dog, cat, bird, even pet.. peeves! But if I meet somebody who has animals that really should be out in the wild and don't belong in a cage inside a house, I'll have to think about that one. I know that some say you can keep a snake or other such creatures inside the cage and you won't have any problems if you're careful when you let them out, but I also heard of numerous instances where dangerous snakes had gotten out of their cages, and done some damage, and that's their instinct, unlike cats, dogs, or birds, that are intelligent enough to know you, snakes don't care who you are, they go by instinct and sometimes that instinct is to kill so they can eat.

Unfortunately, this was a true and a very tragic scenario a few years back, I can't remember if this was here in Arizona, or in Oregon, but I remember a news story about a guy who had a boa constrictor as a pet, and he woke up one morning to find his own son, who was around 1 year of age, being devoured by the snake.
