LOL.. That's a Big 10-4 good buddy! During the peak of the CB radio fad from 1978 through 1981, I had one in the 1972 Chevy Impala I drove back then, and my handle was "The Blue Max", because the color of my car was blue.

I learned a lot of CB lingo but I can't remember any of it, except Smokey..

I also get a kick out of watching the movie Smokey And The Bandit (the first one)

Thanks for the memories, Okie_Dokie!!! A fair amount of those terms(and others) are used by truckers today. Only the older "hands" still remember and use the "10" codes; which confuses the newbies. Sadly, the term "Good Buddy" has degenerated to a rather negative connotation...sigh.

skateboard: a flatbed trailer
wagon: a trailer of any kind
covered wagon: a flatbed with a rigid tarping sytem covering the load

Many of the cities still are called by their nicknames:
Shaky Town: San Francisco
Derby: Louisville
Circle City: Indianapolis

"CLOSED" at the weigh station is the acronym for: "Coulda Loaded On Some Extra Deliveries"...

Y'all are looking good that way; see ya on the flip side!!!

Do you know what Phoenix's nickname is or was? If I remember correctly, the nickname cactus-ville or cactus forrest was used for either Phoenix or Tucson, forgot which one...

A bear in the air.cops in a helicopter
A local yokel.

Lot Lizard prostitute at a truck stop.
A Gator in the road
Hand lumper???
