Sugar says that's a Big 10-4 on the lingo. Man does that bring back some memories. My dad was a trucker and of course I had a CB in my car so he could get me whenever he wanted to... and of course back then all the truckers were mighty nice as well....
A "pickle park" is a rest area; especially one with picnic benches.
One of the other terms currently enjoying popularity is "Chicken Hauler'. A "Chicken Hauler" is a trucker that drives a "chicken truck". A chicken truck is a sharp-looking rig that has lots of chrome and lights all over it. Generally, the drivers spend waaay too many days on the road, running hard. The extra lights the driver adds to his truck are called "chicken lights"
With a nod to Jeff Foxworthy; a couple of "chicken hauler" jokes:
"You might be a chicken hauler if your base plate (license plate) and your home address are one in the same"
"If airplane pilots mistake your trailer lights for runway lights, you might be a chicken hauler"
And, if you're a high-class chicken hauler, you drive a "Rooster Cruiser"...
My husband drives a big truck and sometimes I ride along with him. (He does local hauls to construction sites, etc). Let's see how many I get right without asking him for help!

I would appreciate it if you truckers can fill in the one's I didn't get. Or, I can ask my hubby when he gets home tonight.
I know some, but not all of them.
I believe "smokey bear" refers to any cop along the road, not just those with radar. County Mounty referred to a County Sheriff, if I recall correctly.
"A Gator in the road" or an "Asphalt Alligator" refers to a tire tread.
"A Portable parking lot" I would guess is a car hauler.
"A Bull Hauler" I would expect to be a stock trailer (hauling cattle).
I always thought "Dead Head" meant hauling an empty trailer, but I'm not sure.
Edit: I hadn't finished reading this thread when I answered these, so I later saw that someone else answered them before I did. I got 'em right, though, so I guess my memory's pretty good on this topic.

How can you call that easy listening? While I love that song, and many of Red Sovine's others, I find them hard to listen to, since I choke up every time I hear them. This is especially true of this song and "Teddy Bear."
Some of us were truckin' even before CB's became big. Then we used hand signals, such as the 2-finger salute (like the V for Victory) to indicate a cop up ahead or the "wind 'em up" sign to let a driver know the road was clear.
