Yesterday I dreamed I died. It was ok--at first. Nothing spectacular. But I was still in my own home. I waited to see if my family could see, hear or sense me and they couldn't. Afterward, I was still there. I expected to go somewhere. When I realized I wasn't going anywhere, that that was 'it', I cried inconsolably. Weird. But it proves it's not true that when you die in your dream you never wake up. How would they know someone dreamed they died if they never woke up anyway? Have you ever dreamed you died?
Can't say I have. However, I have dreamed I fell off the top of a very tall building (like over 20 stories tall) and in my dream I landed. When I woke up the next morning, it literally felt like I'd pulled every single muscle in my back. I couldn't move. It took like 3 days to be able to move around normally.
I've never had that kind of dream again (thank gawd) but I still wonder to this day, what he heck I did in my sleep to tweak my back like that!
I had a dream 4 days ago that I was shot defending my girlfriend. She had a dream the same night that I was shot attempting to protect someone else. Apparently I died in both my dream and hers! I guess I'm really going to die now! It isn't uncommon for me to dream about dying a violent death.

I had that dream up into my 20s. But rarely since then.
I don’t want to alarm anyone but if you die in your dreams you may never wake up!
He went to bed feeling fine and woke up dead.
