My most longstanding is wash, as washing machine, wash your ears, Washington, etc.
People there is no R in the word(s).
There is a woman running for senate this year who runs slimy ads about her opponent, who has the seat now, and she repeatedly tells me she will do a better job than he will in Warshington.
There isn't a snowball's chance in Hell that I will vote for this person.
I can't stand the American way of starting with "I was like", "I felt like", as in "I was like: oh my god". Or: I was like: that is beautiful.
I'm dutch speaking but I really dislike it. Some, people here use (in dutch) the same stupid quote to express a feeling: "Ik had zoiets van:..." (Translation: "I had something like:"
Try something else! It it very pover to use it.
I was probably in my 30's before someone pointed out that I drop the 's' of off most my words. 50 cent...instead of 50 cents. I lived in the south so long I didn't even realize I did it. This leaves me not being able to make any comments on how anyone else pronounces their words.

I agree. For me, "I was like" preceding a statement is right up there with "Y'know what I'm sayin'?" or "Y'see what I'm sayin'?" after someone makes a statement. It's stupid!
lmao, lmfao, but most of all: rofl. I don't think it happens often enough to warrant it's own acronym, and I can't remember the last time I actually 'Rolled On the Floor Laughing' after reading a comment online.
(not sure if these count as words)
How about misuse of the words "it's" and "its"? The sentence above corrected, should read, "I don't think it happens often enough to warrant its own acronym . . .."
I just noticed that this thread is old and was resurrected yesterday. FYI, folks, there are a number of similar threads in the Writing forum.
I am tired of my fellow Canadians saying "Eh" at the end of every sentence.
Or Where are youse all going.....
