~ Stuff that smells yucky: lilacs (look pretty, smell like cat ****), cat ****, cooked and cooking fish, cooked cabbage, rotten eggs, dead bodies, sour milk, farts, bad breath, adults who don't use deodorant, blackberry brandy, stinkweed.

Oh lordy. We finally got the kinks out of the new fiber optic cable except for the remote that never came. We had to dig a trench from the house to the back alley and from the garage to the utility pole. Then we had to bore under two sidewalks and a patio. The line is in PVC in case we have to switch it out again. That was a nightmare project. I'm glad it's done.

I associate the Deep South with friendly folks, rivers and streams, heat and humidity, rain, sandy soils, pine forests and did I mention humidity? Also the home of my ancestors.
