Recipe of the Day:


HOMEMADE PEANUT BUTTER CUPS RECIPE from Taste of Home
TOTAL TIME: Prep: 20 min. + chilling
YIELD:36 servings
Ingredients
1 cup creamy peanut butter, divided
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
4-1/2 teaspoons butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
4 milk chocolate candy bars (1.55 ounces each), coarsely chopped
Colored sprinkles, optional

1. Combine 1/2 cup peanut butter, confectioners' sugar, butter and salt until smooth.
2. In a microwave, melt chocolate chips, candy bars and remaining peanut butter; stir until smooth.
3. Drop teaspoonfuls of chocolate mixture into paper-lined miniature muffin cups. Drop a scant teaspoonful of peanut butter mixture into each cup; top with another teaspoonful of chocolate mixture. If desired, decorate with sprinkles. Refrigerate until set. Store in an airtight container. Yield: 3 dozen.

Good morning from a damp England....... Even passing cats look fed up!!.......

Right, on to the questions.

My favourite candy? Well, that's easy........ Cadbury's chocolate. Fruit and nut goes down well.

I had a few scrapbooks when I was a young teenager of Raquel Welch. I sure wish I'd kept them....... got lost somewhere along the line when I was in the army.

I am currently reading a book about Mickey Rooney.

The last baked food I ate? Are donuts considered baked?........ If so, I had a jam filled one this morning after my toast and coffee.

Do I have common sense? I like to think so. My wife Judy may not agree.......

Where is my phone? Do you mean one of those cell phone thingies? Well, if so, there is one right next to me on a small table. Judy gave it to me months ago after she got a new one. It is a pay as you go version, and there is money on it. I have never used it yet, because I can't think of anyone I would phone using it.

I have never owned one of these things, and I do feel left out. As I walk through the streets, I see folks talking into them, sometimes with the phone hidden, and a wire in their ear. At first glance, it looks like they are talking to themselves, and appears to me, very strange. If I think of someone I need to speak to, I will try using the one Judy gave me.

Have you ever made a scrapbook? The old fashion kind--my mother was good at helping me keep a scrapbook growing up. I still have it.

What is the last book you read? Or something else? Currently reading, "Chasing the Last Laugh: Mark Twain's Raucous and Redemptive Round-the-World Comedy Tour"

What is a book you read this year that you loved? The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks Not sure I would use the work "loved"--it was shocking/sad/amazing/thought provoking. It was one of those stories that afterwards you think about it for days.

What is the last baked food you ate? I made a new recipe the other day--some French chicken dish. All the work that went into it--it was disappointing--it ended up being so-so. I expected amazing.
