I have always been interested in recording, and music playing devices. My dad got a reel to reel tape recorder about 1960. It was a heavy thing, with a small, but also heavy microphone. He sat me and my sister down, and turned it on, and got us to talk into the mike.
Great topic but I responded here on a new thread, Use of Retro Music Playing Devices, i.e. Stereos. I don't want to take away from PJ's great work in creating the "question of the day" threads.
