Today's Questions:
Do you wash new clothes before you wear them? Usually do, yes.

Something that goes in circles: Wheels on the bus, hands on a clock, karma

A car you wish you could drive again: The chevy nova convertible I had in college.

His and Hers:
Ladies, how old were you when you started wearing makeup or did you? Oh, probably my sophomore or junior year in high school, so that's what.... 15 or 16. I've never worn much makeup though.

Foodie Qs:
What is or should be on your grocery list? The list would be long, really need to go shopping. Grocery shopping is far from my favorite thing to do.

Describe one of your favorite casseroles: Veggie lasagna.... broccoli, julienned carrots, onions, sweet red peppers, garlic, chopped spinach, cottage cheese, parm, swiss, and mozz cheese.... white sauce instead of a tomato sauce. Really tasty.

Do you wash new clothes before you wear them?

Ya know I used to but I just bought some new shrts and wondered why I don't just wear them. So I did

Something that goes in circles:

A washing mchine. Duh

A car you wish you could drive again:

A friend had a Vette, drove it once. It was awesome.

His and Hers:
Ladies, how old were you when you started wearing makeup or did you?

Gents, how old were you when you started to shave?

Good God I don't know, maybe 16?

What is or should be on your grocery list?

Milk pretty much every trip.

Describe one of your favorite casseroles:

Does not exist. Mom forced tuna noodle casserole on us as kids constantly, still makes me shudder. As a result I have rejected all casseroles

- Lemon chicken breasts made at either Wegmans or Harris Teeter. Never made lobster but okay, it makes the "should" list.

If I was younger and had to pick one of the above, only headline news and weather would give me an occasional shot at overtime so one of them but to be honest I would rather be a reporter where the action is, not the person who sits in the studio and reads off a teleprompter or I would prefer to be a news producer if I had to work in the studio so I'll have to go with OTHER.

[quote=bjh;45512826]Howdy, folks. Here are . . .
Today's Questions:
Do you wash new clothes before you wear them? I prefer to, but once in awhile I let it go. In the past the sizing in some new clothes has been very itchy.

Something that goes in circles: Me, last night and early this a.m. It was a prolonged aaaaaaaaaargh!!!!! experience. I needed to replenish some stuff I buy from a vendor on the internet - long relationship, great products. I selected the order and put in a different credit card than usual...and nada, no charge, no message. Five times last night, three times early this a.m. Always same result. This a.m. I even had an email from the vendor "We notice that you have things in your basket....blah-blah." Checked the card - fine, tons of credit, etc. So, I picked a new vendor in the same country made my selections....no problem. At 78 plus I had to ask myself as I dragged my enraged self out of the house finally....did you really have to do this eight times? Where was "get over it and move on" after maybe time three. You are not joined at the hip the first vendor....dunno, but it made for a very exciting blood pressure reading.

A car you wish you could drive again: Back in the Sixties at different times I drove a Volkswagon bug company car from NYC to Conn. I was terrified at first, all that shifting, tiny car....but I got to love it and used to drive on the Cross-Bronx and the Bruckner during rush hour like I was handling a Sherman tank on steroids. I used to go after those semis like I see the Yorkies on the street below yapping and lunging at rotweilers and other big dogs. Totally nuts.

His and Hers:
Ladies, how old were you when you started wearing makeup or did you?

Gents, how old were you when you started to shave? In Jr. High.

Foodie Qs:
What is or should be on your grocery list? I don't do lists, I shop on automatic; but I always seem sure that I lack white chocolate.

Describe one of your favorite casseroles: I love casseroles. I loved the tuna and mushroom soup one done in layers on crumbled potato chips that we started getting a lot of when I was about age ten.

Just for fun:
If you could be a part of a TV newscast which would you most like to present: (choose as many as you like)
-Headlines? I think the temptation to ad lib would lose me the job.
-Sports?
-Weather? There was a time when who looked at those people? But at some point that I don't remember they started getting a lot of "personality"....I guess it was on the Weather Channel in the U.S. first, but then some of the guys on the BBC began put on the pizazz and really each had his own little act...at first I used to laugh and be fascinated...Brit lads doing this routine?! But then I had to check the weather again because I hadn't taken in a bit of it.

I just want to jump out in front of the camera with all those maps behind me and say, "Hi there, it's meeee - passion's plaything!!!....with the hottest weather in town, even when it snows. So, open a few buttons and be prepared to love it all the way, all day."

-Traffic?
-Health?
-Consumer alerts?
-Adopt a kid or pet?
-Other?

Why does the IRS not understand this?

Today’s Word:
antidisestablishmentarianism [an-tee-dis-uh-stab-lish-muh n-TAIR-ee-uh-niz-uh m, an-tahy-] noun
opposition to the withdrawal of state support or recognition from an established church, especially the Anglican Church in 19th-century England.

When I visited cousins in Ireland, two of the oldest spoke about how relieved their parents declared they were when the established Anglican state Church of Ireland was abolished in 1870. Supposedly our grt. grt grandfather had been a tithe defaulter and had been enraged the rest of his life when the solution to mandatory tithes had been to reduce them by only 25%, but then the remaining tithe amount was officially added to your rent and your landlord turned it over to the established church. A kind of shell game. In the meantime, I have to say, I have never had a look at the notorious Defaulters List.
