Just yesterday morning I had made breakfast and made a comment about something. NO RESPONSE! Total silence. Then at LEAST 30 seconds later came a "HUH"???? I was floored. I said, "No, if it took that long for it to reach your brain that I SAID SOMETHING, I don't want to waste any more breath repeating it".

I have read that women talk more then men, sort of confirms what I have seen.
I think some men learn to tune it out in order to stay sane. I don't think men are as expressive, maybe they prefer quiet more and I can relate to that myself.
I did date a guy who never heard you say something he didn't want to hear. Like when he asked me to sleep with him and I told him NO and why, of course he didn't hear me and kept on acting as if I was going to sleep with him. I finally got tired of explaining it too him.
